Super Eagles Intl and FC Dinamo Batumi defender Godfrey Oboabona says current Super Eagles team under Genort Rohr needs more competition.
The 2013 AFCON Winner states this while answering questions from journalists in an online Nigeria sports forum, Let’s Gist Naija this Monday.
“The current team is a bit okay, But i think there should be more competition in team. This is all about our country. No superstar”, Oboabona said.
While also quizzes on his 2013 AFCON success, Oboabona said: “Winning the AFCON has help me so much. You have to believe in yourself and have the self confidence.
For me i give thanks to God almighty for been there for me. Am so happy for my life and carrier so far”
Oboabona made his international debut for Nigeria in 2012, and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
He was called up to Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He was selected for Nigeria’s squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and was named in the provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Oboabona was selected by Nigeria for their 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
